Seminole County’s agricultural roots were critical to laying a strong foundation for our community. We are working with 4-H, the University of Florida IFAS, Extension Services, and various members of our agricultural community to highlight the important role agricultural has played in Seminole County over the last 100 years.
“Seminole Celebrates” will kick-off our 100 days of celebration on January 16th with the opening of the exhibit “100 Years of Agriculture in Seminole County: Our Stories”at the Museum of Seminole County History, as well as a ribbon cutting for the pole barn. This event will serve as the inaugural centennial event.
Our sponsors will be co-hosting a “Florida-themed” BBQ with local entertainment, on the museum property the evening of January 16th to kick-off the festivities.
(This will be a ticketed event, so check back for more information!)
The Seminole County Cattlemen’s Association (SCCA) will present their Third Annual Seminole County Cattlemen’s Jr. Ranch Rodeo with a Centennial flair. The rodeo will be held at the Yarborough Ranch Arena.
A youth ranch rodeo is a lot like an adult ranch rodeo except the events have been geared for youth. Each team will compete in the following events: team sorting, calf branding, steer penning, steer decorating, steer riding and the relay race.
