Seminole County residents who require daily skilled nursing care, assistance with daily living, or have life-saving medical equipment dependent on electricity should register for the Special Needs Program. This program is specifically for those individuals who live alone or with their families.
The Special Needs Emergency Shelter Program is designed to provide hurricane or disaster related evacuation assistance and care for those without other alternatives, for those who need transportation assistance, and/or have a health or medical condition that requires medical attention in the shelter. Anyone who is unable to evacuate and/or get to a shelter on their own, due to a disability and/or medical condition (with the exception of those residing in a nursing home and/or assisted living facility or group home), can register with Emergency Management to obtain assistance in the event of a disaster that requires them to evacuate their home.
