For the convenience of our citizens, drop off facilities are available County-wide.
RECYCLING DROP OFF FACILITIES

- Junk Mail
- White or Colored Paper
- Box Board
- Carrier Stock
- Brown Paper Bags

- At the Central Transfer Station only, you may also drop off large amounts of clean corrugated cardboard free of charge.
SWMD is partnering with Mustard Seed of Central Florida (TMS), the respected local nonprofit furniture and clothing bank, to provide TMS with waste mattresses and box springs collected at the County’s Central Transfer Station (CTS).
Beginning August 6, 2012, SWMD will accept waste mattresses and box springs, at no cost to the customer, at the CTS located at 1950 SR 419 in Longwood. TMS will subsequently collect the materials for reuse or recycling to support their efforts toward assisting hundreds of disadvantaged families in Central Florida with furniture and clothing. With so many families in need of household furnishings and other basics, the partnership will make beneficial use of items that would likely otherwise be landfilled. Therefore, this opportunity to increase recycling and landfill longevity also generates direct assistance to many in need.
