CCC Program

The Seminole County Environmental Services Cross-Connection Control (CCC) Program was established to safeguard the County's potable (drinking) water system from contaminants and other hazards that may enter through cross connections.  Backflow Prevention Assemblies (BFPA) or Backflow devices help protect against these cross-connections.

Pressure Vacuum Breaker
Reduced Pressure
Reclaimed/Dual Check

Regulatory authority for the CCC program is established by laws promulgated to safeguard the County's potable water system.

Two different backflow preventers
Two different backflow assemblies.

The CCC program was established by ordinance in 1992 and 1999 by the Board of County Commissioners. The Seminole County CCC Program was formally approved by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) on January 26, 2000.  The current ordinance 2014-23, was passed by the Board of County Commissioners in May 2014. This ordinance is part of the Seminole County Municode, Chapter 270 "Water and Wastewater", Part 11.

The County as a water supplier is responsible for safe drinking water up to and including the water meter.  Backflow Prevention Assemblies (BFPA) are required on all service connections downstream (on the customer's side) of the water meter and are required to be tested annually.

For more information on the CCC Program, please call Matt Ripley at 407-665-2795, email or Laila Martin at 407-665-2760, email.
